| Guatemala fishing and Guatemalan fly fishing vacations, fishing trips near Guatemala City for deep sea saltwater sport fishing charters and guides for Blue Marlin, Snook, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Dorado. Guatemala, in Ixtapa, is a remote but modern destination that fisherman will never forget.
For pure sailfishing, Guatemala could be considered the most consistent and productive fishery in the world. The rumors and seemingly grossly over exaggerated tales are true 25-50 sailfish a day is not a "fish story". Blue water close to the marina makes this destination desirable providing anglers more fishing time. Guatemala is an ideal location for conventional anglers and fly fisherman alike. In fact, we recommend those interested in getting started in saltwater fly fishing try this hot spot. With so many shots at big sails, the knowledge gained in 1 day of fishing would take a week in many other destinations.
Guatemala is a must for any angler. Being one of the easiest destinations to get to makes it even more attractive. Go, try it out, come back and tell us your stories and we’ll believe you!
Sailfish and dorado galore! Goldon Guatemala is open year around with the best months for sailfish being December through March.
Dorado and roosterfish are abundant and can be found any time of year.
If there is a "slow" time, it's October - December but plenty of dorado and roosterfish are still taken these months. Dorado to 70 pounds are possible, but most abundant are school size fish in the 10-20 pound class.
And don’t ignore the possibility of marlin here. Summer months have proven to be a good time for marlin
